ANARC’s message on radio communication at the Jubilee

ANARC recommends the use of FRS/GMRS radios throughout the event on trail runs and other outdoor activities. As we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee, we want to ensure that all attendees have a safe and enjoyable experience.

FRS (Family Radio Service) and GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service) radios are low-cost, handheld devices that provide reliable communication in remote areas without cell service. These radios are easy to use and require no special licensing or training. They are ideal for communicating with your group traveling on the trails and keeping in touch with the trail leaders.

We understand that some attendees may be hesitant to use radios, but we encourage everyone to give them a try. You may be surprised at how helpful they can be in ensuring everyone's safety and enjoyment.
