ANARC Stewards Training
ANARC is launching an innovative off-road skills training event in 2025 that goes beyond our traditional rally events. This unique program meets ANARC's mission to "train the trainers" who will return to their clubs equipped with advanced skills and knowledge.
Eight professional instructors will be on-hand to conduct four intensive training sessions. Participants will be strategically divided into four groups, balancing skill sets and vehicle types.
Dates: March 26-30, 2025
Location:
Cole Learning Center at I4WDTA Facility
67-61 Bridal Falls Lane
Tularosa, NM 88352
Directions:
The I4WDTA facility is located on Bridal Falls Lane.
Bridal Falls Lane is a dirt road off US-70 near mile marker 231.
Drive slowly down the dirt road and expect the unexpected as road users seldom stick to the appropriate side of the road and you may encounter livestock, pets, crazy drivers and wildlife.
Facility Layout:
Participants/Candidates will park and camp, as shown, on the 64 Bridal Falls Lane property. Look for a gate on the right with the number 64 and "Cole Learning Center" on it. Note that Google Maps will take you past this gate if you enter 64 Bridal Falls Lane, Tularosa, NM 88352. There is a gate on the right which you must go through and then close again. Please keep the gate closed at all times.
I4WDTA Instructors will camp on 63 Bridal Falls Lane. The gate to 63 Bridal Falls Lane is on the left and just before a big wooden fence. It is a remote gate and is opened by the staff upon arrival.
Weather:
Stewards training takes places during the windy season. The winds can be strong; if you are tent camping use appropriate tent stakes. The facility has had snow and freezing temperatures in March before; expect the unexpected.
Medical & Emergencies:
Although we are not responsible for your health, we do have qualified first aid providers.
Please fill-out the Participant Medical Emergency Information document.
Click on the above link, enter the information and print two copies before departing for Stewards Training.
You will be required to present this document and to keep it on you at all times during the training.
Hold Harmless Agreement:
We make every effort to ensure your safety and to date no one has been injured during the event. Nonetheless you will be required to sign a hold harmless agreement to participate.
Additional Information:
The facility is in the high desert. The elevation is approximately 5,000 feet. Please be sure to hydrate adequately and dress appropriately.
There are lots of creatures (snakes, scorpions, spiders, etc.) that can cause significant injury or even death if you are bitten. Please be careful and watch where you are walking or sitting. If you're walking about at night, make sure you do so with a good flashlight.
Dogs are most welcome. The facility staff have dogs. We recognize there may be squabbles between dogs. Please do your best to minimize squabbles. Also be sure to pick up after your dogs. There are coyotes in the area. They can, and do, lure unsuspecting dogs and kill them and eat them. Keep an eye on your dog(s) and keep them contained, especially at night.
Understand we will be working in remote locations and casualty evacuation will be complex at best. There is a minimum 40-minute ambulance ride to the closest ER. Safety is everyone's responsibility. Be ultra careful.
Dress appropriately. You will be working in rough terrain so make sure you have appropriate shoes, pants, shirt, sun hat, waterproof jacket, gloves, etc. There are a lot of mesquite trees around and the mesquite thorns will go right through the sole of a regular shoe, flip flop, croc and vehicle tires.
Nights will be colder than the days by about 20 degrees or so.
Drive slowly on our roads. They are all private roads maintained by our neighborhood. There are often neighbors riding their horses, walking their dogs and even cattle in the road. Cattle are difficult to see at night.
The facility has firewood at the main house for evening campfires. Make sure that the fires are completely extinguished before you head to bed. Do not light fires when the wind is strong; we absolutely do not want to start a runaway fire. There is a fire pit located at 63 Bridal Falls Lane that has a hose nearby.
All meals are provided on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and Sunday breakfast.
Bring your own beverages, coolers, camp chair, bedding and clothing. This is primitive tent camping for the duration of the event.
There are a limited number of shower facilities and bathrooms. Please leave it like you found it - clean. Additional porta-potties and hand wash stations will be available.
A dumpster will be available for all your trash. Please keep the property clean.
